Tree abstraction 21

I have the idea of going more abstract and being bold in the future. Not totally sure in what direction I will go, but with this one I went outside my comfort zone and it felt good.

    1. Thanks Jean. I like to try new things out and I want to go even more abstracted, but without loosing the simplicity and my style.

  2. I like the rich and complementary colors in your paintings. It's clear you really understand what you are doing.

    1. Thanks Robin.
I usually go with my guts, the times when I get into trouble is when I don't have a clear vision of what I want to achieve.

  3. You changed your palette quite a bit. I like these trees. They're warm, almost Fall-like. You might have been out of your comfort zone, but you look quite comfortable there:)

    1. Thanks Linda. I do have favorite colors, but I don't think I have a clear palette like many other painters. I like to experiment.

  4. I can tell it's outside your comfort zone. But the effect is truly stunning. Those colors really seem to vibrate alongside your powerful line work. Love it Roger. :)

    1. Thanks Crystal. I used to only work in black and white when I was younger. Now I like to go either full color or pull it back and just have hints of color.

You should go outside your comfort zone more often

    1. Thanks Julie. When I get into the flow and everything works, then it easier to go outside my comfort zone.

This is extremely difficult. I find it interesting that it looks like an abstract but you can see an image. Lovely little painting!

    1. Thanks Mischy. Even though I abstract and simplify, the motive gets clearer when the lines blend in a distance. PS! It is not that small. =)
